The salinity of the produced water can be reduced from 36,000 mg/L to below 200 mg/L, meeting national drinking water standards. Equipment options include skid-mounted, containerized, and ship-specific models, featuring automated controls, multiple pressure protection mechanisms, and 24-hour operation. During the 2014 Maldives freshwater crisis, China urgently dispatched relevant equipment to alleviate water supply pressure.
